It goes without saying how well-made and popular Fender amps are, and have been for several decades now. That tradition has been kept well in the small, but awesome Hot Rod Pro Junior. It fits perfectly in the long line of Fender tube amps.
Just because of it's smaller size doesn't mean it can't produce a big sound...it can, and does. It cranks up to produce that natural, beautiful, warm tube overdrive. The Pro Junior can fill the need for studio work, or fits in perfectly for that bedroom or home rehearsal area.
Just because it's denoted a 'Junior' doesn't mean it can't also be right at home on the stage. Some players group a pair of Pro Juniors together for a nice live performance setup.
The Fender Pro Junior is an all-tube amplifier, putting out (15) watts into an (8) ohm Fender Special Design Eminence speaker. The tubes are (2) EL-84 Groove Tube output tubes, and in the preamp section there are (3)12 AX7 preamp tubes.
The single channel chrome panel houses vintage pointer volume and tone controls. Wighing in at a mere (20) pounds, the Fender Pro Junior amp is a perfect compromise of size, power and portability. It's truly a universal amplifier that almost any guitar player can find a use for. It can serve nearly any application...and for a fraction of the price of larger amps.
I'll be in the market soon for a practice amp for my oldest daughter, and I'll be looking very seriously at the Pro Junior. I can't think of a better fit for a younger player needing a versatile amp that will fill the need of a do-it-all amplifier.
If you're lucky enough to find a used Fender Pro Junior, I'd hop on it as quickly as possible. I can't imagine very many players buying, and then PARTING with this great little powerhouse.
Have a look in the auction listings here, on The Guitar Store site. If you don't find a Pro Junior, there are many other great Fender amps that might suit your taste also.
Happy Hunting.
